The NHFPC released a number of recommendations for amendments to national food industry standards based on a comprehensive analysis made during the national food industry standard cleanup. The recommendations address areas such as microbiological testing, physiochemical testing, food operating specifications, food related product standards and food additive standards. The deadline for the public consultation will end on November 1st for the testing and operating standards recommendations and November 10th for the Food related and Food additive standard recommendations. The results of these findings and the subsequent public input are very likely to shape the future regulatory environment and will have significant impact for both importers and Chinese enterprise operating across a broad spectrum of sectors in the food industry.
