NHFPC to Approve Six New Food Raw Materials Including Chitosan Oligosaccharide

On Jan. 28, 2014, NHFPC released a draft announcement to approve six new food raw materials, including chitosan oligosaccharide, silybum marianum seed oil, and chmonathus salicifolius S.Y.H. The period for public consultation is until Feb. 21, 2014.

Production process

It is produced by enzymolysis of papain (or papain and cellulose), filtering and spray drying with chitosan as the raw material.
