On March 19, 2014, NHFPC released a draft announcement to approve three new food raw materials, including tagatose, chia seed, and psyllium seed husk. Additionally lactobacillus reuteri (bacterial strain No.: DSM17938) has also been approved for use in infant and baby food. The NHFPC has also adjusted the application scope, consumption volume, and quality indexes of cordyceps militaris, and increases the permitted sources and extended the application scope of plant stanol esters. The period for public consultation is until April 11, 2014.
