Singapore Updates Food Additives and Maximum Residue Limits Regulations

Singapore AVA updated various food regulations, including new food additives, prohibited ones and extended application scopes as well as specifying new maximum residue limits for pesticides.

On 2018 4th January Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) updated various food regulations, presented in the table below.

a) New allowed food additives and ingredients:

The above amendments will come into force on March 2018. Food industry will have a 12 months grace period to phase out Propyl para-hydroxybenzoate and Sodium propyl para-hydroxybenzoate in food products.
