South Korea Proposes New Rules for Customized Health Functional Foods

South Korea proposed new rules for customized health functional foods, including new labeling requirements and expanded consumer information disclosure obligations.

On July 21, 2026, South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) proposed a partial amendment (Notice 2026-338) to the Enforcement Rule of Health Functional Food Act. The draft updates labeling and consumer information disclosure requirements for customized health functional foods. Public comments will be accepted until August 31, 2026.
