Taiwan Allows the Use of Rosemary Extract as Antioxidant in Dietary Supplement

Rosemary extract now can be used in the production of dietary supplements as an antioxidant. The dietary supplements should be in forms of capsule, tablet, powder or liquid, and designed for people over 3 years old.

On January 25, 2021, Taiwan amended Standards for Specification, Scope, Application and Limitation of Food Additives1, which permitted the use of “rosemary extract” as an antioxidant and revised the application scope of “Sodium Copper Chlorophyllin”.2

Here are the application scopes of the two ingredients:
