Apr 23, 2026

Brazil’s ANVISA issued IN No. 438/2026 updating IN 28/2018 to regulate Curcuma longa extracts in dietary supplements, including newly authorized constituents and strict dosage limits for adults only.
A six‑month transition period allows continued manufacture or import if the warning is provided via customer service and websites, but full labeling and formulation compliance will be required thereafter.
On April 22, 2026, the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) published Normative Instruction (IN) No. 438 of April 16, 2026, amending IN No. 28/2018 regarding dietary supplements. The new regulation updates the authorized constituents, usage limits, and complementary labeling requirements, specifically introducing strict guidelines for the use of Curcuma longa extracts. This regulation entered into force immediately upon its publication.
