On Jan. 10, 2017, the Environmental Protection Administration Executive Yuan, R.O.C. (Taiwan) announced the revision of “Drinking Water Quality Standard”, which mainly amends the requirements for bacterial limits and physicochemical indexes of drinking water in Taiwan.
Main changes are listed as below:
- The maximum limit for coliform units in drinking water has been set to 6MPN/100mL (multiple-tube fermentation technique) or 6 CFU/100mL (membrane filtration technique), and the maximum limit for total bacterial count has been set to 100 CFU/100mL.
- The requirements for odor and color of drinking water have been changed, and the maximum limits for the substances that may affect the health status of human body have been reset, including arsenic, lead, selenium, etc.
