Thailand Updates the List of Permitted Plant and Animal Colorants

Thailand’s FDA updated the official list of permitted plant and animal species that may be used to extract natural food colorants.

On July 24, 2026, the Thailand Food and Drug Administration (Thai FDA) released an updated List of Permitted Plant or Animal Species Used for Extracting Natural Colorants. This regulatory document outlines the approved plant and animal sources, as well as the specific parts permitted for the extraction of natural food colorings. The updated regulation took effect immediately upon its publication date.
