249 Batches of Imported Products Rejected by China Customs in June 2021

On July 16, 2021, General Administration of Customs of China (GAC) published the list of non-compliant food products in June.1 A total of 249 batches of imported food from 37 countries/regions were rejected, with a significant increase compared with the past months in 2021.

China Proposes to Approve Eight New Varieties of Food-related Products

On June 29, China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) opened eight new varieties of food-related products to public feedback, including one new variety of substance applied in food contact materials (FCM), one new variety of FCM additive, five FCM additives with expanded application scope, and one new variety of disinfectant raw material. Any comment shall be sent back to CFSA prior to July 21, 2021.
