According to the ASEAN Guidelines on Nutrition Labelling, nutrition labeling in ASEAN comprises nutrient declaration and supplementary nutrition information. Nutrient declaration is mandatory except in certain exemption cases, while the supplementary nutrition information is voluntary.
In August 2025, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) officially endorsed the ASEAN Guidelines on Nutrition Labelling (hereinafter the Guidelines), which were finalized during the 39th PFPWG Meeting held from October 31st to November 1st, 2024. These guidelines are expected to enhance consumer awareness of food’s nutrition labeling and facilitate the trade within the region.
