As revealed by NMPA’s notice on Oct. 29 [1], Bellakt failed to pass China’s recipe registration for all its 3 recipes. Up until now, Bellakt is the only dairy company in Belarus that has received CNCA manufacturer registration (now GAC registration) approval [2].
Stricter Overseas Recipe Approval in Future
Until October 30, China has approved 75 new IF recipes but rejected 15 recipe applications this year. Moreover, officials released some hints during the Fourth Special Food Conference [3]. It is said the government will be stricter with overseas recipe registration in future, and will likely take more time to conduct onsite inspection and approval with the goal of improving the safety and quality of products on the market.
Since most mainstream and demanded brands have been approved it won’t influence them too much. For smaller enterprises CBEC will likely be the only feasible route to market.
