CFSA Opens Two New Food Ingredients for Public Feedback, Including a Bacterial Culture for Baby Food

The two ingredients under the consultation are sugarcane extract and bifidobacterium longum subsp. longum BB536.

According to a notice released by China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) on Nov. 1, 2021, China is now soliciting public opinions on using sugarcane extract and bifidobacterium longum subsp. longum BB536 as new food ingredients. Any opinions should be sent to xspyl@cfsa.net.cn prior to Dec 1, 2021.

Unsuitable for infants and young children under three years old, the pregnant and breastfeeding women. Unsuitable groups should be marked on labels and instructions.
