China Approves New Varieties of Food Additives and Nutritional Fortification Substances

On Jun. 30, 2016, China NHFPC announced the approval of ten new 10 food additives and 3 nutritional fortification substances, and detailed the expanded application scope or usage of 19 food additives and 1 nutritional fortification substance upon safety evaluation.

  • 3-Heptyldihydro-5-methyl-2(3H)-furanone
  • Vanillyl alcohol
  • 6-[5(6)-Decenoyloxy]decanoic acid
  • Glucosyl Steviol Glycosides

3 new nutritional fortification substances:

  • Magnesium-L-Threonate
  • Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS)
  • Vitamin K2 (Fermentation)
