The Impact of COVID-19 on Food Regulation in China?
Feb 13, 2020

It is anticipated that the implementation of special food registration and other pending regulations will be postponed due to COVID-19.
China will increase the importation of food products subject to stable demand, such as meat and other agricultural products, and shorten the time for customs clearance.
The outbreak of novel Coronavirus at the beginning of 2020 has severely disrupted China’s regulation schedule. To minimize the spread of the disease, on Jan. 30, China NMPA announced that the onsite processing of special food, drug, medical devices, and cosmetic administrative approval are temporarily suspended (online submission of registration data is still possible) [1].
