In a recently published bulletin on AQSIQ website, several imported dairy products failed local CIQ routine inspection.
According to the monthly list of unqualified imported food and cosmetics, the content of copper and selenium in Australian Primeel formulated milk powder stage I, stage II and stage III failed to meet China’s national standards. Unqualified batches of Primeel products have been returned. It is noteworthy that the manufacturer of Primeel, Milk Powder Solutions Pty Ltd is present in CNCA’s list of registered milk infant formula manufacturers. (See Chemlinked Food News on 1 May 2014)
Besides, whole batches of OZ Milko formulated milk powder stage I, stage II and stage III manufactured by Australia’s OZ Dairy Food Pty Ltd were destroyed due to lack of required certificates or substandard nutritional composition. Other unqualified imported dairy products include fresh milk, milk-base drinks and cheese, etc.
The latest CIQ failures highlight the continuing uncertainty regarding Chinese regulations for imported dairy products.
