Korea Revises Drinking Water Management Act

On Dec. 24, 2018, Korea government announced the revision to “Drinking Water Management Act”, which mainly includes the following items:

• The scope of water purifier has been expanded to apparatus supplying cold water, hot water and ice makers.

• Water that has potential risk, including drinking water, spring and brackish groundwater, is subject to water quality testing.

• Any misleading product names or other indications cannot be applied on the package of products that do not belong to water purifiers according to the act
