On May 21, 2015, Taiwan FDA announced the draft of Regulations on Labeling of Glued Meat Products, which will formally be implemented from Dec. 1, 2015.
Glued meat refers to any meat products produced using binding agents produced from poultry, livestock or fish raw materials, which would easily be considered as single meat product by consumers by mistake. Packaged glued meat shall be labeled with “reconstituted meat”, “glued meat” or any other equivalent words. There should also be the alerts indicating consumption precautions such as “only eat when cooked” on the label.
