Taiwan FDA Proposes Traffic Light Nutritional Labeling System

Taiwan FDA proposes a FOP “Traffic Light” labeling system for sugar, sodium, and saturated fat, guiding both consumers and industry toward healthier food choices.

On April 10, 2026, Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) and the Health Promotion Administration (HPA) announced a joint draft to introduce a "Traffic Light" system for Front-Of-Packaging (FOP) nutrition labeling. This approach provides a more intuitive and easy-to-understand reference to help consumers choose healthier foods, thereby supporting the prevention of chronic diseases and promoting healthier dietary habits.
