[Updated] Vietnam Suspends New Food Safety Decree and Resolution until Mid-April 2026

1. Vietnam temporarily suspends Decree No. 46/2026/NĐ-CP and Resolution No. 66.13/2026/NQ-CP until April 15, 2026, delaying their enforcement.
2. During the suspension period, the previous framework under Decree No. 15/2018/NĐ-CP and related documents will remain in effect.
3. Enterprises gain a grace period to continue operating under existing rules while preparing for full compliance with the new regulations from April 16, 2026.

Updates on March 13, 2026:

On March 13, 2026, Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Health chaired a meeting with multiple government ministries—including Public Security, Industry and Trade, Justice, Finance, Agriculture and Environment, Science and Technology, and the Government Office—to review and consolidate solutions for addressing difficulties in implementing Decree No. 46/2026/NĐ-CP and Resolution No. 66.13/2026/NQ-CP.
