Vietnam MOH Consults on Extending Suspension of Decree 46 and Resolution 66.13 on Food Safety and Registration

1. Vietnam's Ministry of Health has issued a draft Resolution to temporarily suspend the newly issued Decree 46/2026/ND-CP and Resolution 66.13/2026/NQ-CP on food safety implementation and food product declaration/registration until the amended Food Safety Law and its guiding decrees take effect. 2. During the suspension, Decree 15/2018/ND-CP will continue to govern food safety management, while key provisions in Resolution 66.13/2026/NQ-CP that facilitate flexible scientific evidence for functional food health claims will remain effective until February 28, 2027. 3. The move aims to avoid repeated regulatory overhauls and reduce compliance burdens for food businesses, giving regulators and enterprises more time to prepare for the forthcoming revised Food Safety Law.
