1. Vietnam’s Government issued Resolution No. 15/2026/NQ-CP on April 6, 2026 to temporarily suspend Decree 46/2026/NĐ-CP and Resolution 66.13/2026/NQ-CP on food safety and food product declaration.
2. During the suspension, food safety management, registrations, and declarations revert to Decree 15/2018/NĐ-CP, which continues to govern dossier processing and compliance.
3. Authorities will intensify inspections of food production, import/export, e-commerce food fraud, and advertising, so enterprises must adjust procedures and closely follow upcoming amendments to the Food Safety Law.
On April 6, 2026, the Government of Vietnam released Resolution No. 15/2026/NQ-CP to temporarily suspend the effectiveness of two recently issued major food safety regulations. The resolution officially halts the implementation of the new guidelines for the Food Safety Law and food product declaration, mandating a return to the previous regulatory framework to ensure smooth administrative transitions. This resolution came into effect immediately upon its issuance on April 6, 2026.
