Apart from Abbot and Mead Johnson, Nestle, another global food giant, is also involved in China’s FSMP market. Earlier in April this year, Nestle completed construction of a new FSMP production facility in Jiangsu. In addition we can also see greater diversification of the companies entering this market. Previously nearly all approved FSMP were made by infant formula manufacturers, but now pharmaceutical companies are also competing for a stake in the market (Hengrui Jiankang is a subsidiary of Hengrui pharmaceutical group). More market competition and greater product diversification is ushering in a new era for China’s FSMP sector.
