U.S. FDA Amends the Standard for Yogurt
Dec 28, 2022
On December 15, 2022, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) unveiled Doc. 2022-27040, revising the standard about claims, Vitamin D dosage and milkfat content of yogurt. The amendment will come into force 30 days after its announcement. The transition period will be until January 1, 2024.

Japan revised the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Food Sanitation Act. Indonesia drafted new regulation for processed food registration. Thailand unveiled the exposure drafts of five food regulations. Singapore updated the List of New Farms and Establishments Approved to Export to Singapore. Philippines proposed to revise Guidelines on the Unified Licensing Requirements and Procedures. India mandated the rules for foreign food manufacturing facilities of five food categories to register with FSSAI. EU amended regulation as regards maximum levels of dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs in certain foodstuffs. The U.S. announced to remove the dual labeling requirements for certain packages of meat and poultry products. Canada seeks approval for the use of alpha-cyclodextrin.
