India acted against food business operators involved in false or misleading advertisement and claims. EU proposed revisions to existing marketing standards for several agri-food products. UK intended to introduce a new mechanism for food imports. US solicited public comments for food labeling requirements. Canada modified the List of Permitted Supplemental Ingredients. Australia and New Zealand proposed to update regulatory requirements for infant formula.

US Unveils National Strategy on Safe & Nutritious Infant Formula Supply

On March 28, 2023, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an Immediate National Strategy (hereinafter the Strategy), aiming to increase the resiliency of safe, nutritious infant formula supply in the US. The Strategy responses to a months-long infant formula shortage, which was sparked by insanitary conditions at one of the nation's largest infant formula facilities.
