CFDA to Investigate Health Food Registration Certificates

On May 11, 2015, China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) announced that they will conduct an investigation of health food registration certificate holders to evaluate the current status of health food manufacturers and facilitate implementation of the newly finalized Food Safety Law.

Holders of health food registration certificates that obtained the certificates before Jan. 1, 2015 will be investigated to assess product approval, production and trading conditions. Health food manufacturers will be examined to assess production scope, qualifications, capabilities, personnel, raw materials and product inspection, etc.

The holders of health food registration certificates and health food manufacturers should fill in the investigation form through the online information platform (https://123.127.80.3/dcb/login.jsp) before June 30, 2015, and send the printed investigation form along with relevant documentation including health food registration certificates and production licenses to local food and drug administration departments. After the investigation a health food regulatory filing system will be established according to the product categories and manufacturer types.
