The regular inspection checklist is released to standardize all the activities in food manufacturing, trading and catering service sectors.
On May 11, 2016, China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) released regular inspection checklist and result recording table in support of the implementation of “Administrative Measures for Regular Supervision and Inspection of Food Manufacturing and Trading” (see CL report on May 8, 2016).
The regular inspection checklist details the inspection items in each manufacturing and trading link, and classifies inspection items as general inspection items and key inspection items with result evaluation column set for each inspection item. It includes four parts as below:
- Checklist for food manufacturing activities
- Checklist for food trading activities
- Checklist for catering services
- Checklist for health food manufacturing activities
It is specially mentioned in the second part that the third party platform provider of online food trading shall carry out license examination or real-name registration of the traders.
For special foods including infant formula, health foods, and foods for special medical purpose, it will be examined if they are registered or filed as stipulated, and if their labels, user’s directions and advertising and promotional materials are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
Any illegal activities discovered during the regular inspection will be punished in accordance with Article 126 of Food Safety Law.
