On March 6, 2020, CFSA set up the requirements on imported "dairy permeate powder", which is not subject any national food safety standards. Any feedback shall be sent to jinkou@cfsa.net.cn prior to April 5, 2020. This is the second time that China has permitted market entry for an imported food without any national standards in China.

1. Brief introduction:
Dairy Permeate is produced by removing the protein and other solids from milk or whey and has a high concentration of lactose. It can be used in many food applications, such as bakery, dairy, confectionery products, etc.

2. Scope:
This executive standard will only apply to dairy permeate powder (from whey or milk) manufactured in the US.

7. No food additives are allowed in the dairy permeate powder.
8. The labeling of this substance shall conform to GB 7718 and it shall have a disclaimer "not suitable for direct consumption".
