Major Changes

Major changes include the replacing and update of some test methods, adjustments to physiochemical indicators, definitions, etc.

  • The cadmium limit in cereal-based complementary infant food (0.06mg/kg), which was a temporary pronouncement rolled out early in July by SAMR and NHC has also been promulgated.

  • 19 out of 24 consultation drafts of GB standards have been newly developed since 2017 (see standards No.6~24 above).

  • In the amended draft of GB 29938 “General standards for food flavor and flagrance ingredients”, food additives which already have a dedicated GB standard have been removed, applicable test methods have been added, and concentration limitations for food flavor and fragrance ingredients have been added.
