China Opens GB 28050 “General Rules for Nutritional Labeling of Pre-Packaged Food” to Public Feedback

Mandatory nutrient labeling requirements have been expanded to include: saturated fat (acid), sugar, Vitamin A, and Calcium. Additionally more products are proposed to be exempted from nutrition labeling requirements such as food products that are packaged in a recycled glass (ceramic) bottle where labeling information cannot be printed
As revealed by an announcement issued on Dec. 19, 2018, China National Food Safety Standard Review Committee opened the updated GB 28050 "General Rules for Nutrition Labeling of Pre-Packaged Food" to public feedback, and any comments shall be sent back prior to Jan. 4th, 2019.
