Hong Kong and Japan Ban the Importation of US Poultry Products

On March 11, 2015, the Center for Food Safety (CFS) of Hong Kong Food, the Environmental Hygiene Department and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) announced the ban of US poultry products. The bans came after a notification was released by US authorities announcing an outbreak of the highly pathogenic H5N2 avian influenza in Jasper County, Missouri. Japan has also banned the import of poultry meat and products from Kansa
