NHFPC Runs Public Consultation on 9 National Food Safety Standards

On 28 Jan, China NHFPC started to seek public comments on the following 9 National Food Safety Standards (NFSS) regarding nutritional fortification substances in foods.

  1. NFSS Food Nutritional Fortification Substance Magnesium Gluconate (draft);

  2. NFSS Food Nutritional Fortification Substance Cytidine 5'-Monophosphate (draft);

  3. NFSS Food Nutritional Fortification Substance Acetate, retinyl ester (draft);

  4. NFSS Food Nutritional Fortification Substance Sodium D-pantothenate (draft);

  5. NFSS Food Nutritional Fortification Substance Polyfructosan (draft);

  6. NFSS Food Nutritional Fortification Substance Fructo-oligosaccharide (draft);

  7. NFSS Food Nutritional Fortification Substance Zinc Chloride (draft);

  8. NFSS Food Nutritional Fortification Substance Zinc Acetate (draft);

  9. NFSS Food Nutritional Fortification Substance Algae Iodate (draft)

Generally, this kind of standard details the application scope, chemical name, molecular formula, structural formula, relative molecular mass, technical requirements (sensory requirement and physiochemical requirements), microorganism limits, as well as testing methods.

The public consultation will end on 30 Mar. Please login in the NFSS Management Information System (developed by CFSA under NHFPC) to submit your comments/suggestions on–line.
